How to Windshield Repair

Windshield repair is essential to keep your windshield in good condition throughout the year. Even though it is usually under our control, we cannot help but experience cracks and chips during winter and summer. Unfortunately it is one of those natural instincts that most of us have that we have to handle. Throughout the year our windshield chips occur every now and then, but luckily they do not usually stick. During winter however, the insides of our vehicles are more exposed to the harsh elements and UV rays, which expedites the cracking and fading process. Typically the best way to alleviate or prevent chip damage is to clean your glass with a mixture of water and mild detergent.
DO NOT scrub or pressure wash your glass, since it will destroy the protective coating of your windshield making it more susceptible to damage. These compounds will slowly remove any sand particles trapped between your windshield and the windshield itself and also eliminate any peeling or deforming. While this will preserve your existing windshield it may not prevent future growth. If you know that your vehicle has been affected by a chip in the glass, it is advised to get your wipers and wiper fluid changed right away. New windshields are also dependent on a clean wiper fluid so if your supplier begins to run low on wipers, your vehicle may not be able to pass the manufacturing deadline.
If your vehicle is affected by a chip in your windshield, make sure that all liquids and belts are randomly checked to ensure that they are securely and properly seated. If your hood has become cracked and your windshield is Property of Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth, you may be required to replace your windshield. Unfortunately this is an out of your direct control. The only thing you can really do is to ensure that you are driving with maximum visibility. This can be done by simply installing a condenser on your windshield to minimize the affect of heat from your headlights passing through. Cracks may also occur on your side windows and rear windows. These cracks will typically cause your side windows to sag at an angle, which will result in an inadequate supply of rear visibility. To prevent this, you can install bald or rubber-coated vinyl to your side and rear windows, respectively. This will guard your glass from income and physical damage. In some regions this can be an expensive upgrade, but in the long run, this will minimize the risk of glass constraints during wet days, a luxury you cannot get with an inferior performance windshield. Overall our cheap windshield repair should cost around ten dollars. However, our tab is best backed up by insurance, which will protect both our vehicles. When we spring for items like this, we are just setting ourselves up for bigger problems if the suspension is off, as it was last week after another week of sub zero temperatures and record ice temperatures. The first headache did not happen. The second headache did not happen either.
