Answer to the question “The son of which U.S. President starred on “The Young and the Restless”?“
President Gerald Ford and First Lady Betty Ford had four children: a daughter, Susan, and three sons, Michael, John, and Steven. Steven, the youngest of the boys, is a former actor, best known for playing the role of Andy Richards, the best friend of the character Paul Williams, on the long-running CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless.” Steven’s tenure on the show lasted six years, from 1981 to 1987. (He later returned in a recurring capacity between 2002 and 2003.) Perhaps not surprisingly, growing up in the public eye eased Steven’s shift into acting, as he was already used to people watching him.
He has a handful of other roles to his name, too, including guest spots on “Baywatch” and “Suddenly Susan,” and small parts in “When Harry Met Sally” and “Armageddon.” One role he probably regrets turning down, however, is Tom Chisum in the 1978 classic “Grease.” After he backed out, Lorenzo Lamas took over the character instead.
